Lactation Consultants

If you are planning on breastfeeding, which by the way is the best nutritious, developmentally sound way to feed your baby, then plan to meet with  a lactation consultant BEFORE you birth.

This is a learning process for both you and baby, becoming stressed, frustrated and confused can be a realization after coming home from the hospital (especially if there is not much support ie other family members)

Aside from lactation consultants, post-partum doulas are also trained to assist with lactation.

  1. Hello.
Great site! I am a lactation consultant (IBCLC), Certified Lactation Educator (CLE), communication and feeding specialist (MS, CCC-SLP). I have been working with pregnant and breastfeeding moms, infants and children for many years. I am now opening a private practice. Among other services, I offer private prenatal breast feeding education classes for expecting moms/couples as well as in-home lactation consultations.
I service all of Oahu and travel to outer islands for more challenging cases. Please list my name and phone number on your site. I serve as an important resource and provider for women in the community.
Please contact me back and call to verify as needed.
    Aloha,
    Julee Portner Benzaken, (808) 222-8410
